Science Gallery Atlanta: Faculty Advisory Committee

Composed of a handful of distinguished researchers from across the university, the Faculty Advisory Committee advises Science Gallery Atlanta (SGA) leadership on creative programming and research initiatives and helps to enlist faculty participation across all disciplines. The mission of Science Gallery Atlanta is to ignite creativity and discovery where science and art collide. Achieving that goal depends on engaging with inspiring thinkers and doers across Emory and beyond: students, faculty, and community members. The SGA Faculty Advisory Committee plays a crucial role in this work.

Reflections

“Science and Art together share the same creative space that seeks out new ideas, rethinks old thoughts, and strives to change our community. Science Gallery Atlanta puts on display this unique science-art intersection, to engage one's creativity, thoughtfulness, and self-reflection. It has been an honor serving on the faculty committee and witnessing the Science Gallery Atlanta team turn a concept into an exhibition unlike any other in Atlanta.”

“As an Atlanta native, I have been incredibly excited and proud to be part of bringing Science Gallery to Atlanta and Emory as I fully believe this is exactly what our communities need. This provides the opportunity for Emory to be more intimately involved with the city of Atlanta and to bring a new stimulating way of experiencing science, art, and faculty research to the youth of Atlanta. The collaborative opportunities across Emory and the city that Science Gallery has already provided has been incredibly impressive and I can’t wait to see how the exhibitions and programming help to transform the opportunities for the youth of Atlanta.”
