SEESAW: Creating Safe Spaces Workshop

  • Science Gallery Atlanta 225 Rogers Street Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30317 United States (map)

The purpose of this experience is to engage teens and young adults with a workshop that teaches you to honor yourself and encourage individuality. Together, led by artist Stephanie Brown, we’ll create art collages that represent who we are, take portraits, and share ideas about how we can create safe spaces for each other in opposition to systemic challenges.

This workshop is part of Stephanie Brown's SEESAW Project in our JUSTICE exhibition. SEESAW is a participatory artwork where the concept of justice is embodied through a playground environment featuring seesaws and faux gold bullion bars. Visitors are invited to play in this sensory learning experience that emphasizes various aspects of our identity that influence our perception of justice, such as race, immigration status, education level, and more.

This is a free event.
